BOOKMARK THE SITE: – To get to the Basram members’ website really easily in future in one Click/Tap, go to the website using the link provided to you. Bookmark it [on your computer] or make a shortcut [on your Mobile Home Screen].

For Windows Computer – click on the 3 dots top r-h of screen, click on Bookmarks in the drop menu and click Bookmark this Tab and ensure Show Bookmarks Bar is ticked.
For Android Phone – tap on the 3 dots top r-h of screen and tap Add to Home Screen.

How to Create a Website Link on Your Home Screen – iPhone and iPad
1.      Launch Safari on your ‌iPhone‌ or ‌iPad‌.
2.      Navigate to the site that you want to create a Home Screen shortcut to.
3.      Tap the Share icon (the square with an arrow pointing out of it) at the bottom of the screen.
4.      Scroll down to the list of actions and tap Add to Home Screen. (If you don't see the action, scroll to the bottom and tap Edit Actions, then tap Add next to the Add to Home Screen action. After that, you'll be able to select it from the Share Sheet.)
5.      Type a name for your site link. This will be the title that appears beneath its icon on your Home Screen.
6.      Tap Add in the top-right corner of the screen.
7.      Your Website Link/Bookmark will appear in the first available space on your Home Screen and you can drag it to your desired location – then tap Done.

The site opens on the “Members Area – Index” page. This is a table of contents – Walks Programmes and Newsletters are in the top line; click on what you want and scroll down. To get back to the Index, click on the blue text “back to: Members Area – Index” that is at the top right on every page.


PDFs open in a new window, and can be viewed, downloaded or printed in the normal way. Close the window to return to the previous web page. [Note: There are now Archives for members who are  interested. These are pdfs but will take time to open from an expanding library that’s in development, so please be patient].


There are a small number of Word documents that members may choose to use – these need to be downloaded, opened and Enable Editing needs to be clicked.


The Public Website – is easily accessible from the Members’ area from any device.
On Computer – click the section you want from the horizontal menu that’s under the Basingstoke Ramblers masthead at the top of the page.
On Mobile: click on the three lines at top l-h of your mobile screen and choose from the drop down menu.
